Hal Rives III

Financial Advisor

Harold L. Rives, III, is Senior Advisor and a Registered Investment Advisor Representative of StoneCastle Consulting, with 50+ years of experience in Financial Services.  Hal graduated college with a BBA from Texas Tech University, earned the CPA designation, and then practiced public accounting until joining the US Navy.  Upon leaving the Navy with distinguished service during the Vietnam war, he worked in the Insurance industry in many roles, including the design and launch of CIGNA’s Individual Financial Planning business. He briefly worked for a securities broker dealer before co-founding the New England Guild, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor. This successful 32-year venture was recently subsumed into a larger organization.  Hal has joined StoneCastle where he continues to manage more than $60 million of his clients’ assets.  He brings his diverse experience to develop strategies and tactics to take full advantage of the risk/reward dynamics in the investment markets while incorporating client’s risk preferences.

Along the way, Hal has been active in community and church affairs, serving in all senior positions at St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford where he remains currently on the Endowment Committee. He is a Board member of VOCE, Inc., a professional choral group headquartered in Hartford, and on the Investment Committees of New Britain Museum of American Art and Watkinson School (a private High School and Middle School in Hartford).  While most of his work is conducted remotely from his home in Texas, he travels to Connecticut at least 4 times per year for in-person client meetings, and travels less frequently to in-person client meetings in the other 11 states where clients reside.

Hal Rives is solely an investment advisor representative of Private Advisor Group, and not affiliated with LPL Financial.
